Wow.. it's been a long time!! Where have I been? I'm around, here and there.. but music is with me all the times. So, I think it's only proper now that I'm back to write about the songs that I fave the most.
I know it's gonna be difficult to describe why you like a song. Well, you dont really explain a song, you feel it. There wont be any musical review in this post, because I'm blind of all those. All I can say is that.. I somehow feel the connection with all the songs listed in my fave below. Not necessarily in a moody kind of way... but when I hear it, my soul feels it. I guess, that's what a music is about and I guess, that's what the song writers ever wanted.
So many great songs out there. And my fave musicians (Bee Gees, Andy Gibb, Wang Leehom, and Sawyer) have produces so many amazing songs, I know this list will not be not fair to other songs, also, I dont know if there are any connections between the songs in the list, because I'm not a musical expert. But.........I just feel it :) So here there are. Not in any particular order...
1. A Hill Called Mount Calvary

This is Barbra Streisand's song, but Andy Gibb sang it so painfully beautiful.
5. Trust
Leehom has sooooooo many other great songs. He is a great musician and I have been a fan for 10 years and I will always be... but this one is the one that connects with me more. Read about Leehom in my other blog, here.
6. Losing You
I love this song so much that I cried the first time I heard it while.. I didn't even know any of the lyric of the song. And since Leehom never performed this LIVE, I did a video for this song few years ago.
7. What I've Done
I still can't believe that a 14 years old wrote this lyric and create this amazing song. Sawyer is just super talented. He wrote a lot of great songs. I'm so Sawyerized and looking forward to more of him in the future!
There are only very few singers or musicians that I can call my "all time fave". Actually, you can even count them with your single hand... lol. But, hey who knows.. maybe the list will get longer along the times.
THE BEE GEES

Dont know how many times I should repeat this again and again. But, their songs are the reason I can speak English now. Really. That's my story of the Bee Gees. Major major influence.
When I was in Junior High School, 11 years old. I didnt pass the English test, in fact.. I scored 3 of 10. Embarrasing, yeaah. My father had this brilliant idea to lend me his Bee Gees cassette collection and let me hear the songs in a walkman. I felt in love instantly. So while I was listening, I paused, I wrote down the lyrics, I pressed backward button, I listened, I paused, I wrote down the lyric. That was on repeats for.. a countless time. The cassette at that time came with a lyric book, but my dad told me not to look at it. Try to write it down then compare it with the book, he said. I did! Thank God, I was a good kid that time who listened to her old man. LOL! And I even went further. I didnt just write it down, but I translated it, word by word and tried to understand the whole meaning of the song.
It was not easy. It was very hard. But I loved it. Although I didnt get all correct, and I also very often could not tell what they were saying.. but I loved it. Loved the process of that "listened-paused-wrote" moments. Now I'm wondering.. if my dad gave me his Police or Van Halen, would I also be their fans? So.. was it the song? Was it the music? Was it the band? Was it Barry's voice? or was it just the English language... actually?
Bee Gees Songs
Have to admit that they are some songs that I am not a fan of. But I can name some that really got me feel surreal.. like "Bury me down by a river" "South Dakota Morning" "Too much heaven"..
Weird enough that actually those songs were not as famous as " Words" "Too love somebody" "Saturday Night Fever" "I started a joke" "Staying Alive.. and many more hits. Not sure why I'm rooted to the un-popular ones... I guess you can't really explain something surreal, can you?

Andy Gibb Songs
I know that his brother Barry wrote most of the songs for him. So, I think I fall for his sweet voice.. It still give me these chills and goosebumbs each time I listened to his voice, especially "Flowing River" "Too many looks in your eyes" and not his original, it was Barbara Streisand's "In and out of your love".
Flowing River was not a ballad type. So I can't say that I only love ballad, right? But again, those songs I fave most were not all his huge hit, like his "I just want to be your everything" "(our love) Dont' throw it all away" "Rest your love on me". So again, can you really explain the chills and goosebumbs?
WANG LEEHOM
Oooh.. I can write long about him, but I dont have to, because I have a blog for him.
It's an intense liking. However.. I'm worried that it's a bit dimming down. I don't feel that I have to like all his FB posts now, I dont feel left behind even when I dont hear any updates, I dont feel I have to try hard to google translate many chinesse sites to English anymore, I'm still waiting for his coming album but I have stop writing the blog now.
Leehom Songs
Would you believe if I said that I got instant connection to one of his song "Trust". and I cried and cried first time listening to "Losing you" even though I didnt understand a single word of it? oh yeaa! it happened. And again, those songs are not as big as his others mega ballads, such as "Forever Love", "You're not here". I always have 1 fave song from each album that was not the one made to the big hit. It's strange, I know.

I was actually questioning myself whether I'm writing this post for just an excuse to write about Sawyer? Well, maybe so, or it is so.. but I guess... I will have to write about this "kid" on a separate post next time. He is just way way way... SPECIAL. And I need a longer post to pour my heart out. lol. Just know that: I love this kid sooooo much!!!!
Is it his songs? voice? hair? Blue eyes? his guitar? dont know.... But I have all the SURREAL FEELINGS, CHILLS and GOOSEBUMBS, INSTANT CONNECTIONS and TEARS listening to him... all in one.
But before I write long, you may want to check one of his performance, my fave, which again not the same as most majority people who prefer other song than this.
He was not just my teen crush, but he's forever my beloved musician, (sorry Leehom.. I guess when it comes to Andy Gibb, you can only land on the 2nd :) My liking was not as intense as compared to Leehom's, but I have been in love with him since I was only 15 years old. It's been almost 30 years now. wow... phew!
It was a tape at that time. A cassette. He was wearing a red t-shirt and with all that lightening from his fingers, and I swear it's not because of his look, even when I now look at him.. I admit, he's a good-looking guy. He kind of reminds me of Jerry Yan, Mr. DaoMingShi. My friend, Julia, said that it maybe because of his hair. LOL! Anyway.. I grabbed the album because I'm a super huge fans of the Bee Gees since I was 11 years old, I decided to bought that tape. It was not cheap for a teen who lived in a dorm for school.. but I have never regretted the decision a single moment. When later all my tape collection were gone because I carelessly left them on a train ... I bought a new Andy Gibb tape and many Bee Gees tapes.
There was no internet at that time. I didn't know how to get information about him at all. All I have was that tape. Just that one tape. It's his Greatest Hits collection. Don't get confused. It's not an "After Dark" album just like in the picture. I guess at that time many local companies in Indonesia sold tapes of hit songs collection without having to resemble the original.
Andy died in 1988. Sadly I can't remember when it was the first time I heard about his death, and how my reaction at that time. I think only few years after he passed away.. during the early times of internet.. the 90s.

And now in the present times.. He would have been 56 if he's still around. Funny that I feel missing someone whom I have never met in my whole life. I am totally a fan of his voice....
I have all his digital albums, I played them on my driving to / from office.. I have listened to many songs he has sung that I have never heard before (thanks to youtube).. and I collected them all too. I read his bio, I browse to find trivia about him ... I spent hours collecting his videos on youtube. And then.. I found this song:
There must be something about this song, about his voice and about his performance in this song that's giving me goosebumps every time I listened to it. And it has been on a repeat for several days already.
It's a combination of sweet and bitter, it's soft but deep, it's sad but beautiful.... His performance is just beyond words, it takes my breath away. It gives me a feeling of sorrow but it's so amazingly beautiful that I don't want to lose that pain...
When I get to think about his life, I feel depressed. How come a person as nice as talented as loved as him ended up with drugs that led him to die in such a young age. He was only 30 years old when he passed away. And when I read all the wishes on youtube, I got even more depressed. All fans were wishing him a peace in heaven. I know ... I should not judge, but I don't think Andy is a born-again Christian. How can he go to heaven and find peace if... he didn't have Jesus as his Saviour...........
Oh Andy.. I wish you were still here so you can get to hear about Jesus and get saved. But I really wanted to thank you ... somehow, my love for your sweet honey voice conveys one thing... I have to tell people I really love, about Jesus. My sisters and their families, my friends, my relatives... and Leehom. I'm sure they have heard about Jesus, but do they believe in Him as their God the Saviour who can save them from eternal doom?
I will pray hard for those people I love so that they receive Jesus in their heart and make their ways to God the Father in heaven.

It's been more than 4 years when I started this blog, published my first post, but I dont's see progress in quantity. I should have written more ... but hey! writing is not as easy as lying on your back in your bed, watching serial movies with lot's of chips or even ice creams in your hands.
So, even I have too many drafts in my folders needed to be completed and published, but instead... while husband was out of town for business and both my kids were spending 3 nights at church for a bible camp... I have spent the last few days doing the no: 1 easiest thing to do in the whole wild world!

Some parts of my story are very similar to this post. Oh yeaa... we're twin, with so many different things, most basic one is .. different parents. LOL! And as this post has pretty much said it all, ... I'm just gonna write it short. So short that it goes like this: "Aku enggak kapok". Sorry, enggak tahu bahasa Inggris nya "kapok" ahahah..
Enggak Kapok Soal NGANTRI
Desek2 an, umpel2 an, kaki pegel, dan basah kuyup keringetan, sudah biasa and it was expected too actually. No surprise. So, I have equipped us with mineral water, hand fan, tissue, and flat shoes. My husband was a bit over-reacted. "Buy at least 3 bottles of mineral water" he said. I went "ya ya ya..." but no. Unless he's with me to help me carry my hand bag, I'd go with 1 bottle only. Berat bo. The hand fan was handy. We bought it at the outside of the gate, Rp 10.000 saja dengan gambar Pooh yang cute banget itu. I didnt go to office that day, so it's an "office-free" outfit for me. Yeahh!! Monita wore her converse snickers and I had my crocs. But ... Julia unfortunately, has problem with shoes. She's wearing 5cm heels, black covered shoes.
"Ntar di dalem gue buka, gue cemplungin aja ke tas gue" kata Julia. Oh.. okay. I nodded. No further comment. Agreed 100%. So di dalam, gue tagih. "Ayo copot aja" kataku. "ihh.. bisa keinjek kaki gue. enggak deh, thank you." jawab Julia.
I'm sure she was so happy when we're finally able to sit down. "Mendingan memang jangan lepas sepatu deh, lihat nih paku2nya" aku menunjuk lantai dan Julia nodded pasrah... Was she really "cemplungin" her shoes to her bag later on? I have no idea. The room was dark and packed. I can't even see my own shoes! But I dont think she's having cramp legs or something as she jumped all along with the rest of the fans, the whole time. Cool.
Enggak Kapok Soal TIKET
Beruntung. Beruntung banget aku punya channel gratisan. Tiket festival adalah kelas yang paling mahal. Di tiket tertera Rp 750.000. Entah kenapa (belum sempet tanya), Julia bilang dia pesen online harga Rp 825.000. Anyway... di dalam area aku ketemu temen SMP, Elly. She's there with her husband and son.. katanya mereka memang hobi banget nonton2 konser... Justin Beiber nonton... Dora atau Teletubies nonton juga enggak yaa.... haha! Dan yang mengagetkan.. dia membeli tiket festival seharga Rp 600.000. Kok bisa ya beda2? Mungkin karena dia beli di hari H, ke calo. Hmm.... maybe next time I should try that trick to get cheaper ticket too. Kalau beli sendiri, worth to try. Rite? Rite.
Enggak Kapok Soal KERICUHAN
Walaupun udah prediksi pasti bakalan heboh, enggak nyangka ternyata sangat heboh. Anehnya, aku enggak kesel, or marah beneran dengan kejadian itu. I was enjoying the whole things, really. Aku menikmati di suruh mepet kebelakang, walaupun mentok, selangkah lagi itu mas mas tv-one pasti sukses ke injek. Aku menikmati nonton panitia yang "desperado" meminta kita geser. Aku menikmati diomelin Westlife. Aku menikmati ikutan teriak bar-bar seperti "balikin! balikin!" or "ENGGAK BISA GESER LAGI BEGO!!! UDAH MENTOK!!!!!!" I was really having fun enjoying that 30min off.
Keselnya baru besok. Soalnya malah kita yang di festival yang dituduh biang kerok. Hmm... awalnya emosi, sampai ikutan "nyap-nyap" di sebuah site. Penulis berita itu hanya cari sensasi supaya tulisannya di baca. Ngatain Westlife mogok tampil karena penonton ricuh. What a cheap trick, enggak berkelas sama sekali, shallow and disgraceful.
Tapi later on, yang ribut dan heboh ngatain adalah mereka yang tidak nonton. So, let them be. Tidak perlu berdebat dengan orang seperti itu. Buang energi. Halah.....

I was a fan of Westlife long long time ago, and that night, the feeling was still there. Bukitnya gue teriak "NICKY............" sambil loncat-loncat kegirangan. haha. Tapi soal ngikutin mereka nyanyi malam itu, gue nyerah. Lagu Westlife yang gue hapal, terbatas banget. Jadi malu sama bapak yang berdandan aneh (Julia swore he was a pick-pocket), but this man sang along each and every song that night. It was hilarious to hear him pour his lung out "So i said a little prayer, hope my dream will take me there where the skies are blue to see you once again, my love.."

Love the erhu (chinese traditional music instrument) he added, love the voice and the piano... *don't shoot* I love MJ but I am a fan of Leehom, okay? *peace* lol
Leehom surprised his fans and gave the CD for free during his MusicMan Beijing concert, last year in respect to the death of the king of pop. The CD was sitting in each of the audience seats!! I wonder... for those who're coming late to the concert, did they get their copies or not??
And when a fan, mistacool17 used the song and put it together into a "very touching" MV, even Leehom himself put it into his own facebook account.

To be honest, aku sama sekali tidak berencana memakai clip ini sebelumnya. Rencana mau pasang "Forever Love", tapi karena buru-buru ngejar bis pulang, dan yang cepet terlihat n available di mixpod adalah "Another Heaven", so I uploaded it.
But I love this song. This is my fave duet song of Leehom. Dibanding duet-duet sebelumnya, menurut aku lagu ini yang paling keren, vocal mereka yang paling terdengar serasi dibanding lagu2 duet lainnya, dan video clip nya juga keren, walaupun mereka tidak shooting bareng sewaktu pembuatannya.
Jane Zhang adalah salah satu finalis di salah satu singing competition di China. Leehom sangat tertarik dengan vocal Jane dan kemampuannya meraih nada tinggi. Bahkan Leehom bilang, dia happy banget karena bisa included Jane's whale voice ke dalam lagu. lol. Too bad, mereka tidak pernah perform live bareng.

Ada banyak kenangan manis terjadi sewaktu Jerry Yan datang ke Indonesia. Hmmm... berapa kali ya dia datang? Kayaknya sih yang terdeteksi 3 kali, karena dulu pernah ada gosip dia datang tapi hanya ke Bali.
Jan 2003 Konser F4 di Kemayoran, Jakarta
Press Conference, Borobudur Hotel. Gue bela-belain cuti (atau kabur yah hhihi) dari kantor dan ikut team kantor gue untuk hadir sebagai salah satu perusahaan yang mensponsori konser mereka. Gak tanggung-tanggung, gue duduk paling depan dan hanya berjarak 2-3 meter dari F4! Kebayang kan, sepanjang acara gue terkena berbagai penyakit .. mata (tidak bisa berkedip), jantung (berdebar-debar), paru (sesek napas), tangan (gemetar).. dan yang paling memalukan... ngiler! haha.
Konser hari 1, gue dapat undian tiket dari Energizer, VVIP! Tapi gue jual lagi untuk beli handphone baru krn handphone lama dibawa kabur penipu, lol. Dan, gue nonton pake tiket VIP gratisan dari kantor gue yang juga jadi sponsor.
Konser hari 2, nekat datang walaupun tidak punya tiket... tapi berhasil masuk ke area VVIP! *toss* dengan Ineke yang berhasil merayu sepasang suami istri untuk memberikan tiket mereka sewaktu mereka hendak pulang sebelum konser selesai.
July 2006 Solo Mini Konser di Sands, Jakarta
persiapan "welcome back" buat Jerry sudah sangat matang. Seragam, bus, dan a little "arrangement" dengan petugas airport supaya kita bisa tunggu di dalam.. tapi pihak Sands rupanya kurang memberikan koordinasi yang baik dengan kita. Rasanya gak sampai 5 detik, JY melenggang begitu saja di depan fans nya yang akhirnya cuma bisa melongo tak berdaya. Gue sedih, marah, kecewa, putus asa dan merasa gagal jadi koordinator saat itu...
Jerry cuma nyanyi 4 lagu. Itupun yang satu dengan AgMon. apa aja yaa... hayo kita ingat-ingat: wo shi cen te cen te hen ai ni, ye liang tai piau wo te sin, yi gong chi (thanks Ira), satu lagi apa ya? lupa eiy..
begitu Jerry lenyap di balik panggung dan teriakan ENCORE dari fans di cuekin, kita semua yakin bahwa dia tidak akan muncul lagi.. so mulailah kita sibuk berfoto-foto dekat panggung. Tapi ada satu temen gue yang super aneh, Devi Tania namanya, atas dasar mengantisipasi ENCORE katanya, ketika semua sibuk berfoto-foto, dia menatap ke arah panggung dengan padangan yang... ngarep banget. Kalau hanya tatapan mata saja sih oke lah, tidak terlalu memalukan haha.. tapi ini dengan mulut melongo seperti ini ...
Dec 2006 Duta World Vision
Aku dan beberapa teman membawakan JY kue ulang tahun yang guede banget ke atas panggung, dan berbagai hadiah ulang tahun untuk nya. Pas adegan tiup lilin, Ira yang pas di depannya merasa ada hawa sedap menerpa wajahnya.. mungkin Jerry niup lilin dengan sekuat tenaga, untung Ira gak mental.. haha.
again.. si depoy geboy alias Devi Tania melakukan sesuatu yang akan terus diingat sepanjang masa oleh fans Jerry di Indonesia. Waktu session tanya jawab, dia "nembak" Jerry di depan kita semua! LOL. "Jerry, wo shi cen te cen te hen ai ni" katanya dan di atas panggung, tanpa persiapan apa2 sama sekali.. Jerry sibuk tersenyum malu sementara kita semua.... grrrr ketawa. Jerry sih gak menolak, tapi juga gak menerima.. (gile aje, bisa pecah perang dong sama Mas Agung, haha). Jerry cuma bilang "xie xie", tapi I bet semua fans di ruangan itu pengen banget mengungkapkan isi hati juga seperti Devi... dan kita kecolongan! haha. [sayang, gue gak ketemu foto Jerry dengan muka malu-malu karena di tembak Devi, lol).
Heboh banget mau nonton Leehom, maklum yang mau ikutan nonton adalah serombongan sirkus: dua anak gue, suami gue yang jalannya pake tongkat, ditambah temen suami gue (David) dan temen gue (Julia), apalagi salah keluar tol, macet sampai 1 jam, hujan dan banjir, gue pula yang jadi supirnya... hihihi... Perjuangan yang luar biasa heboh untuk bisa melihat Little Big Soldier. Tapi semua terbayar karena film nya juga HEBOH.
Little Big Soldier sama sekali tidak mengecewakan. Seperti film-film Jacky Chan lainnya, penonton pasti heboh ketawa selama pertunjukan. Penampilan Leehom juga gak kalah heboh. Sepanjang film, Leehom gak pernah kelihatan bersih.. jorok terus ;p Sampai anak gue harus tanya begini: "Mami, Leehom yang mana sih?" haha. Gimana anak gue bisa mengenali, biasanya kan Leehom ganteng, bersih, kerena.. di film ini, Leehom cemong, jorok, awut-awutan. LOL
Juara heboh malam itu adalah ... ketika anak gue yang cewek bilang: "mami aku pengen pipis".. Duh De.. mami kan lagi sibuk melototin muka cemong Leehom... gue bilang: "nanti ya abis film." Kayaknya sih dia bener2 kebelet, dia heboh sendiri di tempat duduknya, gelisah gak karuan, bolak-balik bilang "udah gak tahan nih Mih.." tapi gue juga gak tahan untuk mengalihkan mata dari layar.. haha. Akhirnya aku bilang: "Kakak, temenin Dedek ke toilet" Awalnya si Dedek menolak, tapi mungkin udah heboh kebelet, dengan terpaksa dia berdiri juga ditemenin kakanya. Gue masih tetep heboh lihat layar. hahahaha...
Sebenernya kepingin juga lihat Leehom main film yang biasa2 aja, jangan yang latar belakang perang melulu.. gue paling gak suka sama film perang. Misalnya Leehom jadi pengusaha muda yang sukses, jatuh cinta sama cewek yang ternyata adalah pembunuh berdarah dingin yang dibayar untuk bunuh dia .. wuiiih... basi banget. Atau, dia bisa berperan jadi musikus besar yang meraih puncak kesuksesan dengan mengorbankan segala-galanya, termasuk the love of his life, yang tersisa padanya hanyalah "loneliness". Waaah, itu sih gampang banget dimainkan oleh Leehom, kan his true story mirip seperti itu.
Beberapa hari yang lalu Leehom nyanyi lagu judulnya Ge Ge, rasanya kok cocok untuk jadi tema Little Big Soldier.. dan, di lagu ini suara Leehom sangat-sangat powerful.... kadang gue ngeri juga, takut tiba2 pita suaranya putus saking tingginya dia ambil nada ;p
On our way to Citos, I told my husband : "let's watch Avatar after our kids left" I was surprised when he said OK right away. It was so not him to say OK in a sec like that. Wonder did he really want it so bad .. and I guess, he did.
So after our kids left with my sister to Cilacap, in a one packed car - I felt stupid and guilty actually that I let my kids travel in such an unconfortable crowded car, no offense to my sis.. but I just didn't understand, why she didn't even warn me that she has her husband's whole family joining the trip - my husband and I went to enjoy Avatar.
I don't know.. I didn't seem to be able to appreciate the whole 12-years of waiting from Mr. Cameron .. I love the movie, but it didn't leave me breathless, not the way I have expected. I guess, I have to google or read more to be able to understand further.
Coz' as a matter of fact, I have at least 5 complaints about it ...
1. the first flying part with ikron was too long, boring
2. if it's set in a modern world, the future.. can't they make an unbreakable glass that cannot be easily broken when a "rhino" hit it? It's a futuristic-tale world where they can make up just anything, right? It seems funny to me that their robots can easily get hit and broken after smashing with a "rhino" (I didn't know what they called it, btw).
3. if it's that easy to conquer a Toruk Macto, why haven't any of the Pandoras thought of it? Were men of the Pandora not brave or smart enough to do it or at least think about it? Or was it not easy? Was it only a selected one who can ride it? Or... was it just a try from Jake to see his luck or his fate? Were there any lines I missed coz I just don't get that point.
4. if their tree was the only place with the "energy" that they have spent billions $ for, why did they have to destroy it with bombs? Did the energy source not destroyed in the explosion?
5. I wished they've created more beautiful look of the Pandoras. I am OK with the blue and the tail, but please ... at least with a decent nose.
In the end, the only message I got was: don't mess up with NATURE. Well, I guess that's the core message Mr. Cameron trying to tell us. Wasn't it?
Btw, I got curious, when Jake the avatar opened his eyes at the end, what did it mean? Did Mr. Cameron plan to make a sequel? Wonder what would it be. But my crazy idea is: he wakes up amnesia! He will not understand why he is blue, and he will fight to get back to his normal human form .. and even will become enemy of his own recent people and girl. That would be COOL!
